is in the past as today i mark my anniversary of moving to melbourne. while it feels like home, i still feel as if i am just getting my toes wet.

nothing is new now. when i start a sentence with “last year i…” it will be referring to something that happened in melbourne.

Wow a year already…gosh where does time go.
Seems like you just got there!
Welcome home- even if it hurts a bit.
I love you. I am glad you are happy.
It has been an amazing year, and I’m sitting here with a glass of wine toasting you and Alec for coming here a year ago, and for sharing the journey with us. It’s been a special time, and I know there are many years of fun and laughter ahead especially as the kids grow up together.
It’s always strange, getting used to your new country. And yet when people visit, you can’t help but feel proud – this is my home. This is what I’ve been getting used to. I’m from one place and in another and both are me.

you are missed and it’s weird that a year has flown by like this!
Wow, has it really been a year already? Time flies!
